PURPOSE: To maximize improvement of the cooling efficiency of percoration cooling of a heat protection system.
CONSTITUTION: This system comprises a porous heat protection wall 1 and a heating medium supply means 3 which supplies heating media causing endothermic chemical reactions along the low temperature side wall face of the heat protection wall 1 and heating media cool the wall face part due to endothermic chemical reactions which occur while the media, which have been supplied along the low temperature side wall face of the heat protection wall 1, are percolating through the porous heat protection wall 1 to the high temperature side. This constitution allows synergism of latent heat effects due to the phase change of heating media and endothermic chemical reactions to improve the cooling effects of the system.
