PURPOSE: To improve the effiency of the heat pump type hot water feed apparatus by covering a compressor with water sealed jackets, and utilizing the rise in the water temperature within a hot water storage tank for heat generation from the motor of a compressor.

CONSTITUTION: Stored hot water within a hot water storage tank 2 is heated by a heat exchanger 3. Further, the compressor 1 is covered with water sealed jackets 5. The water jackets 5 are connected to the hot water storage tank 2 through a connecting pipe 5. Accordingly, heat generated from the compressor 1 heats stored hot water within the hot water storage tank 2. As a result, almost all input energies applied to the motor of the compressor 1 can be utilized for raising the temperature of water within the hot water storage the hot water storage tank 2.
