To provide a heat pump type water heater wherein the manufacturing cost of a heat pump unit and a hot water storage tank unit is reduced by simplifying an interface between the controllers, through reduced communication between a heat pump controller and a tank unit controller, in a boiling operation of the heat pump unit.
The heat pump type water heater comprises the heat pump unit 1 controlled by the heat pump controller 8, and the hot water storage tank unit 9 controlled by the tank unit controller 12 and designed to store hot water heated by the heat pump unit 1 in a hot water storage tank 10. A boiling operation of the heat pump unit 1, including a circulating pump 11 of the hot water storage tank unit 9, is controlled by the heat pump controller 8, and communication of the tank unit controller 12 with the heat pump controller 8 is only for signals at a boiling operation starting and a boiling operation ending.
