PURPOSE: To improve the heat radiating effect with a simple constitution by forming an air flow converter on the flat surface of a heat radiating disk plate attached to the package of an optical head main body and making an air flow accompanying the rotation of the disk a turbulent flow.
CONSTITUTION: A heat radiating plate 25 is loaded in the package of an optical head main body 20 via a perpendicularly bent end surface and the other end surface of the heat radiating plate 25 having a light transmissive port 25a opposing an objective lens is made parallel to an optical disk. Air flow converting sections such as a plurality of circular hole sections 32 and the like are formed on the other end surface, air flow generated accompanying the rotation of the disk are made turbulent flow and thus the heat radiating effect of the semiconductor laser of the main body 20 is increased with a simple constitution.
