Title:
HEAT RESISTING CLOTH FOR FIRE FIGHTING
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH0975470
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To improve the flame retarding function, the lightweight property and the heat reflecting function of a foundation cloth formed out of a polybenzal fiber by forming a corona discharge treated primer coat layer of the prescribed material on the surface of a synthetic rubber laid on the surface of the foundation cloth, and further bonding a heat reflective layer having a bright metallic vacuum deposited film.

A foundation cloth 11 is formed out of a polybenzoxazole fiber and a synthetic rubber layer 12 as rubber coat is formed on the surface thereof. Also, a heat reflecting layer 13 is bonded to the surface of the synthetic rubber layer 12 via an adhesive layer 17. The surface of the heat reflecting layer 13 is roughened with corona discharge treatment applied to the reverse side 14a of a tetrafluoroethylene film 14, and a primer coat layer 15 is formed thereon. In addition, a deposition film 16 available from the vacuum deposition of aluminum particles is formed on the primer coat layer 15. When the thickness of the primer coat layer 15 is large, the feeling thereof becomes hard, while the adhesive strength and brightness of metallic particles drop when the thickness is small. The thickness appoximately between 1μm and 3μm is, therefore, preferable.
