Abstract:
To provide a heat-responsive fabric, which changes in condition with temperature, using functionality of yarn to lead to expression of a novel function as a fabric.SOLUTION: A heat-responsive fabric 100 including heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10 reversibly expanding/contracting between a liquid crystal phase and an isotropic phase according to temperature change and water absorptive fibers 20 having water-absorbing properties different from the heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10, is constituted so that moisture is kept in gaps 30 between threads of the heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10 and the water absorptive fibers 20, and the water absorptive fibers 20 when the heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10 is in the liquid crystal phase, and the water absorptive fibers 20 are compressed by deformation of the heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10 when the heat-responsive liquid crystalline fibers 10 make the transition from the liquid crystal phase to the isotropic phase, thereby discharging moisture kept in the gaps 30 and the water absorptive fibers 20 to the outside.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
