The heat-retaining knitted fabric or woven fabric is knitted or woven by using a yarn formed by raising a fiber yarn 2 and covering a core yarn 3 with the raised fiber yarn 2. Effectively, the heat-retaining knitted fabric is used as socks, an underwear and gloves and the heat-retaining woven fabric is used as a dress shirt, pants, a sheet, a pillow cover and a towel, which are manufactured by using a raised covering yarn 6 as a back side yarn 7 and braiding the back side yarn together with a face yarn.
