PURPOSE: To reduce the heating of the contacting parts of both ends of the roll by making the position of an electric feeding brush unfixed, and moving the brush away from the contacting part between the roll and copying paper.
CONSTITUTION: The position of the brush 1 is not fixed and the brush is rotated around a roll shaft 5 when necessary. Namely, the surfaces of both ends of the roll which contact the copying paper rise in temperature abnormally, the brush 1 is moved in the opposite direction from the surfaces contacting the copying paper to decrease the current density nearby both ends of the roll at the contacting part between the roll and copying paper, thereby reducing the Joule heat at the parts. Consequently, the heating of parts nearby both ends of the roll is reduced at the contacting part between the roll and copying paper to reduce an abnormal temperature rise.
