Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost by saving the quantity of heat resistant inorganic fibers being used and to take countermeasures against napping of heat resistant inorganic fibers easily and inexpensively over the entire surface.
SOLUTION: A heat seal material 10 is made by bending a plate-like needle punched mat principally comprising glass fiber into a hollow rectangular tube and jointing one bent edge 12 of the mat to the opposite bent edge 13 there so that the mat is not restored. The heat seal material 10 is set in the gap between the body 6 of a hot water supply hot water heater 1 and an outer case 7 when it is used. The cost can be reduced by reducing the quantity of glass fibers to be used because the heat seal material 10 has a hollow tubular shape. Furthermore, countermeasures against napping of glass fibers can be taken easily and inexpensively over the entire surface of the heat seal material 10 and a worker can be protected against creepy feeling.
