PURPOSE: To enable to transfer an image to an appropriate position of an appropriate base, by a method wherein a sheet provided with an adhesive layer on a surface thereof is used as an image-receiving sheet, and a material obtained by sequentially laminating a releasable layer and a heat-sensitive recording layer on a surface of a base is used as a heat-sensitive recording material.

CONSTITUTION: The releasable layer 2 comprising a cellulosic resin or the like as a main constituent is provided on the surface of the base 1, and then a composition comprised of, for example, a diazo compound, and alkaline substance, a coupling agent, other additives and a binder is applied onto the layer 2 to form the heat-sensitive recording layer 3. On the other hand, a heat-sensitive adhesive layer 5 constituted of a thermoplastic resin or the like is provided on the surface of the record-image-receiving sheet 4. When recording, thermal recording is conducted on the heat-receiving material on the side of the recording layer 3 by a thermal head 6, then the resultant image is fixed by irradiating with ultraviolet rays, the receiving sheet and the recording material are laminated on each other so that the adhesive layer 5 makes contact with the recording layer 3, then heating and/or pressing is effected, and thereafter the base 1 is released together with the releasable layer 2.
