Title:
HEAT STORAGE MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS5545730
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a heat storage material capable of sharp transition from the liquid phase to the solid phase and useful for space heating and cooling devices, which comprises ammonium (or potassium) aluminum sulfate and cesium (or rubidium) aluminum sulfate.

CONSTITUTION: The objective heat storage material of latent heat type comprising (a) ammonium aluminum sulfate of formula I or potassium aluminum sulfate of formula II or both of the them and (b) ≥0.1wt%, based on the compound (a), of cesium aluminum sulfate of formula III or rubisium aluminum sulfate of formula IV or both of them. In this heat storage material, cesium aluminum sulfate and/or rubidium aluminum sulfate act(s) as nucleus (nuclei), preventing ammonium aluminum sulfate or potassium aluminum sulfate from becoming supercooled, thus effecting sharp transition from the liquid phase to the solid phase.
