To prevent a driving heat medium from flowing from a transfer circuit (C) to a utilization side circuit (B) just after starting of an apparatus in a heat transfer apparatus using different matters for a transfer heat medium and the driving heat medium.
Two tanks (T1, T2) are provided on a transfer circuit (C) to connect the transfer circuit (C) and the utilization side circuit (B) through both tanks (T1, T2). The transfer circuit (C) is filled with a chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant as a driving heat medium while the utilization side circuit (B) is filled with water as a transfer heat medium. There is further provided with a bypass passage 50 in which the liquid phase chlorofluorocarbon refrigerant pushed out from the one tank (T1) is directly recovered in the other tank (T2) for a predetermined time from the operation starting of the apparatus.
