PURPOSE: To reduce the number of rollers and to provide a compact and inexpensive heat transfer mechanism by providing a cut sheet recording sheet guide member for forming a pocket space to a roller, and a sensor for detecting the cut sheet recording sheet during conveying in the space.
CONSTITUTION: A preceding cut sheet recording sheet 14a during recording and a cut sheet recording sheet 14b continued thereto have a conveying relationship continuously without a gap on the outer surface 34 of a roller 30, and they are isolated from each other in a state that the ends are expanded into a pocket space 40. Accordingly, a detecting hole 36 for a sensor 22 or a detecting window is provided at a guide member 32 corresponding to the space 40, and the leading or trailing edge of the sheet during conveying can be detected by the sensor 22. The mounting position of the sensor 22 and the position of the recorder of a thermal head 18 are predetermined. The sheet is arrived at the recorder after a predetermined period of time is elapsed. Accordingly, recording can be started after a predetermined period of time is elapsed with the detecting time of the sensor 22 as a reference.
