PURPOSE: To provide a heat transfer method which can transfer a colored section being long in its peripheral face in a way that in pleasing to the eye to an outer periphery of a coffee cup or the like.

CONSTITUTION: A cup 4, to the outer peripheral face of which resin such as epoxy adheres, is heated, and a transfer paper with a section colored by sublime ink formed inside is retained on the outer peripheral face of the cup 4, and the cup 4 is fitted and supported by a heated support 3. A heat face trowel 5 is moved forward to press and heat a central section of the transfer paper positioned on the opposite side of a handle 4a of the cup 4, and the colored section is transferred to the cup 4 and the first trowel 5 is moved back. Then two heated second trowels 6 facing each other are moved forward to press and heat a section from both side edges of the central section to the vicinity of the handle 4a, and the colored section is transferred to the cup 4 and the second trowels 6 are moved back, the cup 4 is taken out and the transfer paper is torn off to form a series of colored sections on the sections other than the handle 4a on the outer peripheral face of the cup 4.
