To provide a heat treating equipment and a heat treatment method for regenerating bio-waste, in particular exotic fish such as black bass, into feedstuff and a fertilizer.

The heat treating equipment 10 comprises a hopper 12 for feeding a material to be treated, a hot air dryer 14 for heat treating the material, a crusher 16 for crushing the material, a cyclone 18 for separating finely ground substances contained in exhaust from the hot air dryer 14, a deodorizing equipment 20 for burning the exhaust from the cyclone 18, and a chimney 22 for exhausting the exhaust from the deodorizing equipment 20. The material is crushed after heat drying treatment with the hot air of not lower than 500°C and not higher than 700°C.
