Abstract:
PURPOSE: To heat-treat a blocky glass without deforming the glass by heat- treating the glass under specified conditions.
CONSTITUTION: A blocky glass is embedded in heat-resistant grains and heat- treated by the following means. Namely, the heat-resistant grains 2 are hermetically packed between capsule 10 and the blocky glass 1 contained in the capsule 10 under pressure and closed, and then the glass 1 in the capsule 10 is heat- treated. A porous glass obtained by the heat treatment is sliced to obtain the final product with the variance reduced and having high dimensional precision.
