Abstract:
To provide a heat treatment device for performing bright annealing of a metal strip in which deterioration of a thermal insulator composed of ceramic fiber containing SiO2 can be suppressed even in a reducing atmosphere.SOLUTION: A heat treatment device 1 includes a heating band 12 for heating a metal strip 3, a thermal insulator 17 which is used as a furnace inner wall of the heating band 12 and is composed of ceramic fiber containing SiO2, and gas supply parts 9, 28, 28a for supplying a reducing gas to the heating band 12. The metal strip 3 is subjected to bright annealing in a reducing atmosphere so that the dew point is maintained between an upper limit dew point enabling the metal strip 3 to have bright properties and a lower limit dew point disabling reduction of SiO2 contained in the thermal insulator 17.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 6
