Abstract:
To enable quenching from a high temperature region.
A heating space S2 is defined on the inside of the inner space S1 of a furnace by arranging a heat insulating material in the furnace 1 such that an article W placed in the heating space S2 can be heat treated and a mechanism 3 for circulating gas between the spaces S1, S2 after heat treatment is disposed internally. The heat treatment furnace further comprises a thermocouple 7 for detecting the temperature T1 in the space S1, and means 8 for controlling the thermal conductivity of gas in the gas circulation mechanism 3 through the r.p.m. control of a motor 5 such that the temperature T1 in the furnace detected by the thermocouple 7 does not exceed a preset level T0.
