Abstract:
To provide a heat treatment method for a raceway surface, which can form an outer ring 2 having required dimensional precision and manufacture a rolling bearing device 1 for wheels by assembling the outer ring 2 with a rolling body 4 without further turning a workpiece after heat treatment of a raceway surface and without causing unevenness due to quenching.
A heat treatment method includes: heat-treating raceway surfaces 5, 6 of an outer ring 2 while cooling by spraying water 27 to the entire outer peripheral surface of the outer ring 2.
