Abstract:
To provide a process of manufacture of heater and a heater in which when a sheath pipe and a housing are welded by laser over a peripheral direction to enable occurrence of cracks at the formed melting part to be restricted and a water tightness between the sheath pipe and the housing can be assured.SOLUTION: This invention relates to a process of manufacture of a heater in which a melting part is formed over an entire circumference of an overlapped part where an extremity end side of a housing and a rear end side of a sheath pipe are overlapped in an axial line direction. The process of manufacture of a heater comprises a first laser radiation stage in which a laser is radiated in at least one round over an entire circumference against the overlapped part to form the first melting part over the sheath pipe and the housing, and a second laser radiation stage in which laser is wound around the entire circumference by one round in respect to the first melting part to form a melting part where a part of the first melting part is changed to the second melting part through re-melting action.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 4
