PURPOSE: To heat an object up to high temperatures in a short period of time using an exothermic chemical reaction of an exothermic substance such as quick lime with water.
CONSTITUTION: A heating device is an open-top metallic cylinder with a bottom, and consists of a heating medium 1 filled with an exothermic substance at the lower part, a reactive liquid container 2 mounted on the heating medium 1, and a cap 9a which closes the upper opening tight. Openings on both ends of the reactive liquid container 2 are sealed tight with aluminum foils 5, and to start heating, the cap 9a and the aluminum foils 5 are penetrated with a pin 11 to bring the reactive liquid in contact with the exothermic substance 3, so that the exothermic reaction begins. Since the pin 11 is held with its head 11a fixed at a recessed part 10 of the cap 9a, a hole made by time pint 11 is blocked by the pin 11 itself and the steam is prevented from leaking and spouting outside during heat generation. Therefor, the heat generation efficiency is enhanced and an object can be heated up to high temperatures in a short period of time.
