To obtain a metallic work heating device which does not consume much atmospheric gas, can make gas replacement in a short time, does not allow things scattered from metallic works to damage facilities, and can easily heat and cool the metallic works.
This heating device is composed of a heating chamber 1, a cooling chamber 5, and a traveling unit 10 and the unit 10 is provided with a muffle 14 which surrounds metallic works 12 arranged on a substrate 12 and a vacuum pump 16 which is integrally provided on the outside of the substrate 12 so as to evacuate the air from the muffle 14. In addition, a moving means which moves the unit 10 between the heating and cooling chambers 1 and 5 so that the muffle 14 may be inserted alternately into the chambers 1 and 5 is provided.
