Abstract:
To provide a heating furnace which can heat a metal material in different temperature regions and can achieve uniformity of a high heat state even in a low temperature region, and a method for heating a metal material.SOLUTION: A heating furnace 1 has a furnace body 10, a main burner 21 capable of heating the inside of the furnace body 10, at least one auxiliary burner 31, 31 and 32 which can heat the inside of the furnace body 10 and has a smaller combustion capacity than the combustion capacity of the main burner 21, and exhaust ports 41 and 41 provided at a height position different from the main burner 21 of the furnace body 10, in which at least one of the auxiliary burner 31, 31 and 32 is lower auxiliary burners 31 and 31 provided at a height position between the main burner 21 and the exhaust ports 41 and 41.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
