To provide a hemming apparatus for positioning the inner panel on the outer panel and then for hemming the flange portion of the outer panel to the edge portion of the inner panel by means of a hemming blade, which hemming apparatus can cope with the positioning and the clamping of the inner panel irrespective of the shape of the inner panel, and has high versatility, and can suppress an apparatus cost.

The hemming apparatus comprises a pressure pad 4 for positioning the inner panel W2 on the outer panel W1, and also for fixing the position of the inner panel W2 by pressing the inner panel W2. The pressure pad 4 has reference pins 17 formed so as to be inserted into positioning reference holes h formed on the inner panel W2, and pushing means 14 for clamping the inner panel W2 in the state that the reference pins 17 have been inserted into the reference holes h. The reference pins 17 and the pushing means 14 are provided so as to move at least in a specified direction respectively.
