PURPOSE: To execute hemming and welding in one stage to shorten the stage line and to improve quality of a work by providing a laser beam radiation head corresponding to a weld zone in a hemming die.
CONSTITUTION: When an upper die is lowered and a roller 43 arrives at a cam surface 27b, a hem flange part 11a is bent by a hemming edge 45 to a prescribed angle and hemmed. The upper die 2 continues to lowering, a hemming edge 26 is brought into contact with the hem flange part 11a, bent fully and hemmed completely. At the same time, a controller belonging to a YAG laser oscillator detects the lowering distance of the upper die 2 and makes laser beams 28a radiate simultaneously from a laser beam radiation head 28. Then, the hemmed part 10a of the work 10 is spot-welded to finish a series of working in one stage. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce the number of stages, improve quality and reduce cost.
