Title:
HEMOGLOBIN ADSORBENT
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPH05261152
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To sustain an adsorbing function for a long time and to obtain a firm coupling by allowing an egg antibody against free hemoglobin to coexist on an insoluble carrier through the intermediary of a spacer.

CONSTITUTION: An egg anti-body against free hemoglobin is fixed to an insoluble solid body so as to be allowed to coexist thereon through the intermediary of a spacer (polyalkylene oxide having a polymerization degree of 5 to 500) so as to remove or trap free hemoglobin in the entire blood or in the blood plasma. As the spacer, a chemical compound expressed by formula I may be used where (n) is an integer from 0 to 10, (m) is an integer from 5 to 300 and I is 1 or 2, R1 and R2 are hydrogen atoms or a methyl group same or different from each other. Micropores are preferably presented on the outer surface of the carrier in order to enhance the effective area thereof.
