Abstract:
The invention provides a method of controlling perennial weeds with the aid of N-(pyrazolylalkyl)-N-(5-pyrimidinyl)-chloroacetamide compounds of formula I wherein R1 is a N,N-disubstituted amino group, R2 is halogen, C1-4alkyl, or an ether or thio ether group, R3 is 1-pyrazolyl or 3,5-dimethyl-1-pyrazolyl, and A is CH2 or CH(CH3), in free base form or in agriculturally acceptable acid addition salt form, herbicidal compositions comprising such compounds and certain novel compounds belonging to the general class of compounds of formula I and which are particularly suitable for use in the method of the invention.
