PURPOSE: To improve oil separating performances and to reduce the delivery of the oil, by making the axial distance between the upper cover of a sealing vessel and a mirror plate portion of a fixed scroll member 0.2 or more times the inner diameter of the sealing vessel.
CONSTITUTION: The upper cover 2a of a sealing vessel 1 is made longer in axial direction than a conventional upper cover (shown in broken lines). The axial length ld between the upper cover 2a and the mirror plate 5a of a fixed scroll member 5 constructing a delivery chamber is specified to be long. The length is the height of the delivery chamber, and when the height is made larger than 0.2 times of the inner diameter of the sealing vessel 1, the velocity of upward flow is reduced significantly, spraying of oil contained in gas is reduced, and the oil is pooled on the bottom of the delivery chamber as liquid. Thus the oil can be maintained on the bottom of the chamber to improve the reliability and to reduce the delivery of the oil.
