To provide a hermetically sealed rotary compressor wherein refrigerating machine oil splashed by vanes sliding in a vane grooves in a cylinder is inhibited from being discharged together with the refrigerant gas to the outside of the hermetically sealed vessel without degrading the lubricity in operating the compressor.
In the rotary compressor, a vane groove 13 in a cylinder 6 and a cast hole 12 for a main bearing 4 provided thereon are eliminated. A gap is provided in the vane groove 13 and the flange of the main bearing 4, and a groove 15 for priming the refrigerating machine oil 11 is provided so as to supply the machine oil 11 easily to the vane groove 13. Thus, the amount of the refrigerating machine oil 11 is suppressed which is splashed and discharged by the vane 8 sliding in the vane groove 13 to the outside of the hermetically sealed vessel 10. The refrigerating machine oil 11 is supplied also from the above as shown in flow 14 of the refrigerating machine oil, and the lubricity can be ensured.
