To provide a novel heteroaromatic ring derivative as a thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) material capable of efficiently up-converting a triplet exciton to a singlet exciton, and an organic EL element employing the same.SOLUTION: A heteroaromatic ring derivative having a metal coordination function is represented by general formula (1) in the figure.
