PURPOSE: To provide a titled chromium steel which has the excellent resistance to corrosion by the condensate of the exhaust gas from an automobile and resistance to high-temp. corrosion, is relatively inexpensive and has high performance by specifying the component compsn. consisting of C, Si, Mn, Cr, Cu, Al, Sn, N, Fe, etc.
CONSTITUTION: A high corrosion-resistant chromium steel for the exhaust member of an automobile contg. ≤0.02wt% C, 0.30W2.0% Si, ≤1.0% Mn, 5.0W10.0% Cr, 0.05W0.80% Cu, 1.0W4.0% Al, ≤0.003% S, and ≤0.02% N, contg., if necessary, ≤0.50% total ≥1 kind among Ti, Nb and Zr, and consisting of the balance Fe and unavoidable impurities is provided with the resistance to corrosion by the condensate of the exhaust gas from an automobile, resistance to high-temp. oxidation and the resistance to high temp.-corrosion by stuck rock salt, etc. A casting billet obtd. by melting said steel in an electric furnace etc., and casting the same after subjecting the same to out of furnace smelting such as VOD is subjected to hot rolling, cold rolling, etc. and is used for industrial purposes.
