Title:
HIGH-FREQUENCY DEVICE FOR BEAM EMISSION AND ACCELERATOR USING THE DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3397025
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To change the energy of an emitted beam by providing a high-frequency signal generation means capable of outputting a high-frequency signal containing the center frequency of a band noise in agreement with a single frequency, and a frequency amplitude, upon receipt of the single frequency as well as the band noise.
CONSTITUTION: A proton beam generated in a pre-stage accelerator 1 becomes incident on an accelerator via an emitter 2. The orbit thereof is maintained with deflection magnets 3, or quadrupole magnets 4, and the beam travels around in a vacuum duct 20. The travelling proton beam is, then, given energy by a high-frequency acceleration cavity 5. When the beam is accelerated to a desired energy level, a high frequency control device 8 controls a high frequency generation device 10 for beam emission, and outputs high-frequency voltage to an electrode 7. Thus, the electrode 7 generates high-frequency magnetic field and the betatron vibration amplitude of the beam increases, due to the existence of the high-frequency magnetic field. In this case, the intensity of a high-frequency signal 13 applied to the electrode 7 is changed to vary the intensity of the emitted beam.
