To provide a high friction coating material which comprises an organic binder and zinc powder and gives the coating film having a slip factor of 0.45 or more when formed into a coating film, as well as to provide a high friction painted article having a slip factor of 0.45 or more.
The high friction coating material is mainly composed of an epoxy resin, a zinc powder having a volume average particle size of 1-40 μm, and a pigment containing an aggregate having a volume average particle size of 3-10 μm. It contains 1-10 mass% of the above epoxy resin in terms of a conversion to nonvolatile matters, 65-80 mass% of the above zinc powder, and 3-20 mass% of the above aggregate, and it has a pigment volumetric concentration (PVC), a ratio of the above pigment to the total solids component in the high friction coating, of more than 70 to 85%. The high friction coating material is applied on a base material of steel in a dry film thickness of 50-150 μm to obtain the high friction painted article.
