Abstract:

PURPOSE: To improve the machinability of the sintered compact of a Co base high strength sintered alloy without deteriorating its corrosion resistance.

CONSTITUTION: Co base alloy powder contg., by weight, 25 to 30% Cr, 3 to 9% W, ≤1.0% Mn and 1.2 to 2.0% C and furthermore contg. one or ≥ two kinds selected from 0.02 to 0.30% S, 0.01 to 0.30% Se and 0.01 to 0.30% Te is mixed with a binder, and this mixture is compacted. After that, the binder in the compact is removed by heating it in a nonoxidizing atmosphere, and furthermore, the compact is sintered in a nonoxidizing atmosphere.
