Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain the title brass alloy by specifying the compsn. constituted of Zn, Al, Be, Fe, Co and Cu.

CONSTITUTION: The high tensile brass alloy having high hardness and excellent wear resistance is obtd. by forming it with the compsn. contg., by weight, 20 to 40% Zn, 2 to 10% Al and 0.2 to 2% Be, or, in place of B, contg. 0.2 to 2.5% Zr or 0.2 to 2% P, furthermore contg. one kind of 0.5 to 4% Fe and Co and the balance Cu with inevitable impurities. The brass alloy is most preferable for a die for deep drawing, a die for cold working, a forming roll or the like in which plastic working conditions are particularly severer and wear resistance is required.
