Abstract:

PURPOSE: To obtain an aluminum matrix composite excellent in characteristics by dispersing specified wt.% of nitrides into an aluminum alloy matrix having a specified chemical compsn. and producing it by a powder metallurgical method.

CONSTITUTION: As a matrix, an aluminum allay contg., by weight, under the standard in which the matrix is taken as 100wt.%, 10 to 20% Ni and to 25% Si and contg. at least 1.0 to 3.0% Mo, and the balance Al is used. In the matrix, the grains of one or ≥ two kinds among nitrides and borides are dispersed by 0.5 to l0% in total in the case the whole body of the composite contg. the matrix is taken as 100wt.%, which is produced by a powder metallurgical method. In this way, the composite excellent in wear resistance, rigidity and creep properties can be obtd.
