PURPOSE: To obtain a compact magnetic field generation device which is capable of minimizing power consumption, and operation cost, generating a high magnetic field with high ease and simplifying cooling structure.
CONSTITUTION: In terms of a high magnetic field generation device 6 which provides a cooling vessel 4 which houses a coolant, a superconducting coil 1 which is submerged in the coolant, a permanent current switch 2 which is connected to the superconducting coil 1 and an excitation power source 5 which is connected to the permanent current switch 2, the permanent current switch 2 is housed in an insulation case. Since it is possible to control the permanent current switch by the heater having the lower electric powder, the operation cost can be reduced.
