PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-soluble metal working fluid containing a fine powder of boron nitride having a crystalline turbostratic structure which has excellent dispersibility and lubricity as a substitute of heavy metals such as molybdenum disulfide.
SOLUTION: To provide a water-soluble metal working fluid having an improved dispersibility and emulsion stability by emulsifying in a water phase an oil phase which is prepared by dispersing an effective amount of boron nitride fine powder having a crystalline turbostratic structure in a base oil using an emulsifier, thus the fine powder of boron nitride is dispersion emulsified in a state of a fine grain and kept from sedimentation.
