Abstract:
To provide a high-pressure discharge lamp capable of suppressing a temperature rise of a sealing part even in a high-pressure discharge lamp with a shorter sealing part.SOLUTION: According to an embodiment, a high-pressure discharge lamp includes an arc tube, a lead wire, and a cap. The arc tube includes: a sealing part to which a pair of electrodes is provided on both ends of a discharge space; a metal foil which is embedded into an inner part of the sealing part, and in which one end is jointed to an electrode; and an outer lead jointed to the other end of the metal foil. The lead wire is jointed to the outer lead in an external part of the arc tube. The cap covers one part of the sealing part of the arc tube and the outer lead, and is provided with the lead wire so as to be penetrated. When the whole length of the high-pressure discharge lamp is A [mm] and a distance between the pair of electrodes is B [mm], A-B≤100 [mm] is satisfied, and the volume X [mm3] of the cap satisfies X≥20.0 [mm3].SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
