Title:
HIGH PRESSURE MERCURY LAMP, AND SEALING MATERIAL FOR THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP3926211
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high pressure mercury lamp having a light-emitting tube made of quartz with high reliability restrained from bad effect of concentration of stress generated by the difference of thermal expansion between a conductive sealant and the quartz light-emitting tube.
SOLUTION: The high pressure mercury lamp comprises the light-emitting tube 16 made of quartz, an electrode member 10 housed in the light-emitting tube 16, and the conductive sealant 7A electrically connected to the electrode member 10, press fitted and fixed to the inside of the end part 19 of the light- emitting tube 10 by calking. The sealant 7a is made of a sinter of silica grains having metal coating or metal compound coating. The metal of the sinter has a conductive network structure, and the metal content of the sinter is 20 vol.% or less.
