Abstract:
To provide high-purity 1,3-butylene glycol that has markedly reduced smell with the time of three months after it is produced, shows reduced change with the passage of time.
In the presence of a catalyst, acetaldols are catalytically hydrogenated to produce 1,3-butylene glycol that shows the permanganate color-fading time of ≥5 minutes according to JIS K1351 3.10 in the product three-month later after it is produced.
