Title:
HIGH SENSITIVITY PHOTOTHERMOGRAPHIC MATERIAL AND METHOD FOR USING THE SAME
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2002278019
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a photothermographic material free of the increase of fog and the loss of Dmax and having increased sensitivity.

The photothermographic material includes a base having one or more layers, thereon, containing a binder and (a) photosensitive silver halide grains, (b) a non-photosensitive reducible silver ion source and (c) a reducing composition for reducible silver ions combined reactively with one another. The photosensitive silver halide grains have been chemically sensitized with a combination of a sulfur or tellurium-containing compound and a chemical sensitizer consisting essentially of a gold (III)-containing compound represented by the structure Au(III)L'rYq (where L' is identical or different ligands, each of which contains at least one heteroatom capable of forming a bond to gold; Y is an anion; (r) is an integer of 1-8; and (q) is an integer of 0-3).
