Abstract:
PURPOSE:To provide a temperature expansion valve which prevents detachment of an adjusting screw body without using a special apparatus and jig. CONSTITUTION:At the forward end of a mouth body part 7 with which an adjusting screw body 8 is internally threadedly engageable with a freedom of forward and rearward movement, a thin-wall cylindrical part 21 deformable under external force is formed and, on the inner surface of a cap nut 12, an inclined surface 23 is provided to deform the cylindrical part 21 inwardly of the internal thread diameter 7a of the mouth body part 7 when the cap nut 12 is threadedly engaged with the mouth body part in a predetermined manner. Upon the threaded engagement of the cap nut 12 with the mouth body part 7 in this way, the cylindrical part 21 at the forward end of the mouth body part 7 is pressed and deformed by the inclined surface 23 of the cap nut 12 until it is smaller than the internal thread diameter 7a of the mouth body part 7 and, upon adjustment of degree of superheat, even if the adjusting screw body 8 is excessively loosened, the screw body interferes with a deformed part 24 and its further rearward movement is hindered. The adjusting screw body 8 is thus prevented from detachment.
