Title:
HIGH STRENGTH AND HIGH TOUGHNESS ALUMINUM ALLOY EXTRUDED MATERIAL AND FORGED MATERIAL HAVING EXCELLENT CORROSION RESISTANCE, AND METHODS FOR PRODUCING THE EXTRUDED MATERIAL AND FORGED MATERIAL
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2007177308
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a high strength and high toughness Al-Mg-Si based aluminum alloy extruded material having excellent corrosion resistance which can provide strength and toughness more improved than those of the conventional Al-Mg-Si based alloy, i.e., a high strength of ≥400 MPa by proof stress and a high toughness of ≥25J/cm2 by Charpy impact value, and is suitable as a vehicle apparatus member; to provide a method for producing the extruded material; and to provide a method for producing a forged material.

The extruded material has a composition comprising 0.7 to 1.4% Si, 0.55 to 0.95% Mg and >0.43 to 1.0% Cu, and one or more kinds selected from 0.15 to 0.43% Mn, 0.05 to 0.23% Cr and 0.05 to 0.24% Zr, and the balance Al with impurities, and also satisfying [Si%]×1.73-[Mg%]>[Cu%]×1.03, and the extruded material is characterized in that the central part in the thickness of the cross-section has a subgrain structure with an average crystal grain size of ≤10 μm, and the ratio of the subgrain structure occupied in the cross-section is ≥70%.
