Abstract:

PURPOSE: To prevent the infiltration of impurities into a reaction product from the reactor material by using the reactor packed with the ceramic pebbles having high corrosion resistance to a highly corrosive reactant.

CONSTITUTION: The reactants corrosive to a metal at high temp. are subjected to a reaction at high temp. in the presence of a catalyst in the reactors A and B. The inner periphery (f) of a reaction zone is coated with a ceramic. At least two reaction zones are provided, and each zone has a fixed catalyst bed (d) and a ceramic-pebble heat accumulating bed (e). The reaction zones are connected by a communicating passage (i), a high-temp. gas inlet (a) communicating with each catalyst bed is provided, the raw material inlet (b) or reaction product outlet (c) communicating with the heat accumulating bed (e) is provided, and change-over means CWF for alternately changing the raw material inlet (b) and the reaction product outlet (c) over to each other are provided. As a result, the corrosion of the reactor material by the reactants, etc., is prevented, and the infiltration of impurities into the reaction product from the reactor material can be prevented.
