To obtain a reliable high temperature sodium secondary battery module in which cooling of a battery is facilitated and damage and extension to adjacent batteries during active substance leakage is hardly generated by separating adjacent batteries by a bulkhead and charging an insulation material outside of the bulkhead.
In a high temperature sodium secondary battery module, individual batteries 2 are separated by a cylindrical bulkhead 3, and a powder-type or fiber-type insulation material 4 is charged outside of the bulkhead 3. Thus, even if a battery is damaged, and an active substance is leaked from a battery container there is no worrying about the leaked active substance being shielded by the bulkhead, and even if it is leaked outside of the bulkhead, it is held and fixed to a gap between particles or fibers of an insulation material; therefore there is no worrying about adjacent batteries being damaged.
