Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing useful organic compounds such as lactic acid, succinic acid and ethanol on an industrial scale in high efficiency and productivity.SOLUTION: The method for producing the organic compounds comprises use of an aerobic coryneform bacterium transformed with a DNA sequence encoding glyceraldehyde 3-phosphate dehydrogenase under an expressible control sequence, accumulation of the organic compounds in a reaction liquid under a reducing condition by increasing the metabolic rate of sugars with the transformed coryneform bacterium, and recovery of the organic compounds from the reaction liquid.
