To provide a highly functional safety rope supporting device for reliably supporting the safety rope for securing an operator's safety in a danger area, having excellent work efficiency.
The safety rope supporting device chucks a peripheral surface of a handrail 30 provided along a traveling direction of a passage to move freely on the handrail, and front ends of a pair of curved arm members 3, 3 onto which the handrail 30 may be chucked are journaled in a freely openable and closable manner below a supporting member 1 having a ring 2 provided on an upper end thereof for engaging a hook 35 at the front end of the safety rope 34. Wheels 4 which rotate along a longitudinal direction on the peripheral surface of the handrail 30 are mounted on the arm member 3. Furthermore, a locking mechanism 6 is provided above the supporting member 1 for maintaining a state of the arm member 3 when the member is closed.
