To provide a hinge capable of easily performing a turning operation and further provide a packing material having the hinge.
A hinge 2 made of textile is formed by sewing an upper cloth 4 onto a lower cloth 3. There are provided pocket sections 5a, 5b at both sides with a longitudinal sewing line 7 being held therebetween for use in receiving a plate-like member. A thickness margin for use in forming pocket sections 5a, 5b is provided by the upper cloth 4. With such an arrangement as above, when the plate-like member is turned, a resilient force for preventing its turning operation is scarcely produced. In addition, even under a state in which the plate-like members are closed while they are being confronted with each other, no repelling force is produced and it is possible to keep this state.
