To provide a hinge with a damper which increases resistance abruptly at the time when relative rotating movements of a shaft-like member and a bearing member are to be made abruptly.

A hinge 14 with a damper function is composed of a shaft-like member 20, a bearing member 22 and others and a cover 16 is fitted to the shaft-like member 20 with a bracket 24 interposed, while the bearing member 22 is fitted to the upper-side part 12 of the main body of a copying machine with a bracket 26 interposed. The shaft-like member 20 has second and third shaft parts 2002 and 2003 connected rotatably to second and third hole parts 2202 and 2203 and a first shaft part 2001 which forms an annular gap 28 extending in the direction of extension of a first hole part 2201, between the inner peripheral surface of the first hole part 2201 and it, in a state wherein the second and third shaft parts 2002 and 2003 are connected rotatably to the second and third hole parts 2202 and 2203. A silicone compound is sealed in the annular gap 28.
